The leaves turn and fall
from their high regard
upon divergent branches
of now vacant trees.
Falling like soldiers
whose cause has been lost.
With no purpose to go on
their grasps weaken.
Like the others at the start,
but a hero wins our hearts
by standing to be the last.
Still falling to gain status
as a hero in our eyes...
The fallen soldier
affirms their honor
faced with imminent demise
the sacrifice: to give it all!
How could a hero survive when they're called to give it all?
A hero cannot survive; they're called to give it all.
Like the others at the start,
but a hero wins our hearts
by standing to be the last.
Still falling to gain status
as a hero in our eyes.
The hero is called to die!
